Mitsubishi laser TV

Proudly, Mitsubishi anounced it has developed world's first laser based rear-projection TV. Basicly it works the same as normal rear-projection TVs, but instead of regular light rays, laser beams are used in order to display sharper images and a bigger variety in color. With the current HDTV technoligy applied Mitsubishi has really found a way to beat Plasma and LCD TVs.

Sony Bravia line-up

Sony showed some exciting new technologies at CES, beginning with their new Bravia LCD-line. But, the 82" LCD they were
prowning with was just "technology statement." The biggest model available for consumer usage will be the KDL-46S2000 which is 46-inches, and will have an estimated launch price of $4,400. This will buy you a build in HDTV tuner, standard resolution of 1366x768 pixels, and a 1300:1 contrast ratio. Cheaper ones are avaible in de Bravia-S line up. This all will be available around Q2 this year.

Microsoft still releasing new HDTV samples

Microsoft's gallery of promotional HDTV samples has been updated. Recently A sample of multiple Oscar winner, Titanic has been added. Also the theatre trailer of Pixar's latest computer animation movie, Robots has found a place in the gallery. Classics like the IMAX trailer Coral Reef Adventure and Dust to Glory still shine. These kinds of movies give good impression of what the next generation of video entertainment will behold. Crisp shots and super smooth movements. Nintendo will not support HDTV

Nintendo's new gameconsole, revolution, will be released next year and will not support high definition TV. Unlike Microsoft's Xbox360 which has been released this fall, and Sony's Playstation 3 which will launch in a few months. Nintendo chooses to fully concentrate on the gameplay aspect of video games. NEC's PC / HDTV symbiose

It pretty much looks like a computer with a larger TV screen. And that's exactly what it is. Early next year NEC will release it's new line-up of Valuestar products. Windows media center will be the operating system combined with a HDTV. There will also be a harddisk on wich recorded video footage can be stored. The will cost around €2400 (about $2,900 US).
